SSI DIVER STRESS & RESCUE
Increase your safety and awareness on a dive with our Diver Stress & Rescue specialty.
This course will help you to be prepared and aware in order to avoid, recognize and solve problems both on the surface and underwater if they ever arise.
During the course, you will take part in a combination of academic and in-water sessions in the pool as well as in the open water. You will learn about what stress is, its causes and prevention, detecting and dealing with stress, accident management, skills to deal with panic and rescues and conditions which could complicate rescues in order to prevent accidents.
The Diver Stress & Rescue specialty is a rewarding course which teaches you some very useful skills, creating an all-round more confident and aware diver.
To take part in this specialty you will need to have valid First Aid and CPR which are not older than 2 years. Oxygen Provider certificates are recommended.

Flying / Climbing after diving
According to our current SSI Flying After Diving guidelines – it is highly advised you should not go to altitude (this includes flying and climbing) within 18 hours when doing multiple dives.
This means that the day after your diving program you can take a flight after 0930 hrs in the morning.
Things to bring
Change of clothes, sun lotion, sun cream, towel, personal toiletries, insect repellent, hat, personal medication.

Pre-Requisite
Minimum age of 15 years old to earn the SSI Stress & Rescue Diver certification.
Divers must show proof of current SSI Open Water Water and First Aid qualification or equivalent within the past two years.

Method of Assessment
Knowledge mastery is assessed using knowledge reviews, video in MYSSI app and final exam with a minimum score of 80%.
Complete any academic sessions, complete three open water dives, including professional briefing and debriefing.
