The Basic Freediving Instructor Training Course (Basic FITC) focuses not only on the teaching aspect of being a freediving professional, but also on the diving industry and the retail side of things. The instructor's mission is to create inspired divers, who will go on to enjoy their new hobby no matter where they travel.

About the Freediving Instructor Course
The Freediving Instructor Training Course prepares you as a dive professional to teach students how to dive and how to become a role model. The course focuses on SSI’s teaching methodology and system, customer loyalty cycle's philosophy, group control in both academic and in-water teaching using a roleplay format.
It is aimed at freedivers with a high level of freediving ability and experience who are ready to take it to the next step and become a Professional. This is not a relaxing holiday or training camp. This is an intense program which will empower you to lead with confidence and patience, teach professionally and transform your life!

Who can take this course?

Minimum age 18 years
-
Be certified as SSI Assistant Instructor (SCUBA) / Mermaid Instructor
-
Have a Total Diving System of professional type and quality

Proof of First Aid, O2, AED and CPR certification or equivalents within the last 24 months (SSI React Right is recommended)
-
Diving Medical Statement signed by a physician and dated within the last 12 months
